The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and a bit of philosophy

I watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel last night and a saying kept being used by the hotel proprietor “Everything will all be alright in the end. If it is not alright, then it is not the end.”

I looked for this on t’Internet and it seems to be credited to Anon. It does sound a bit in the style of an ancient proverb.

At its simplest it is a charming dream that everything will be alright right in the end. But I think there is a deeper meaning about not giving up.

I think one has to have a vision, a goal, and the only way to get there is to carry on until you get there. There will be obstacles along the way, but these can be overcome tackled one at a time.

Quotes from two great businessmen and creators expand on the two aspects of this simple adage.

“Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right!”
Henry Ford

Have faith in your goal…

“I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.”
Steve Jobs

and see it through to the end.

“Everything will all be alright in the end. If it is not alright, then it is not the end.”
